Comments from the Master: During my many years of teaching Taekwondo, one thing that has remained constant is how the students learn from the benefits of Taekwondo. It's not all about kicking and punching. It doesn't take much to teach someone how to kick and punch. The real benefits come from learning the "Life Skills" or basic tenets that we teach in this adcadmey. These attributes include Confidence, Respect, Focus, Self-Esteem, and Discipline. It is my intent for the student to take these skills outside the confines of the Dojang; to utilize these tenets for success in the "real world". Of some of the many things I learned during my 20 years in the United States Air Force, it is that confidence, focus, and self-discipline are required to become a success. As a parent myself, I know how important it is to instill these tenets in a child's belief system. The banner on the first page of this web site states "Preparing You for Your Black Belt in Life". As Master Instructor of the American Taekwondo Academy (ATA) Martial Arts Center, I look forward to the opportunity to help you or your child become a "Black Belt" both in taekwondo and in life!
